Blithesome: lighthearted, merry, cheerful
It is time for a new segment that I have been ruminating on for some time now. “Look, a Distraction” will be a recurring article basically entailing anything I feel is worthy of distraction, be it games, movies, TV shows, etc. We all need a break from our MMO of choice from time to time and Dr. Klassi is here for you! Mostly “Look, a Distraction” will be me discussing/reviewing various games. Not a review like most sites mind you, but mostly whether or not I enjoyed playing it and would I recommend it. I’ve been taking up an interesting pursuit lately now that we’ve almost gotten The Raider’s Companion completely out of the door. I’m taking all my years of gaming experience and working on a rule system for a board game. My goal is to come up with something that allows players to build an attachment to their character and the game world but is so straight forward that anyone can pick up on how to play. The mechanics of the rules were actually pretty “easy” to work out. What has me moving slowly right now is looking at the intersection between race and class and the statistics that go behind them.
Aure and I had a lovely vacation down at Disney World. It was really special for us and I’m sure we’ll never forget our time there. You see I had an ulterior motive and a plan. A plan that I had set in motion months and months ago. After all of the Epcot fireworks on our first night I proposed and she accepted! It couldn’t have gone any better. After that the vacation flew by but it was delightful.
Just dropping in to leave a quick note for everyone! Thank you all again for the extremely successful launch of The Raider’s Companion! The initial feedback we’re getting is, thus far, universally positive. We have sent out some review copies (some are still available
I know I shouldn’t be but I am often surprised when Rift PvP players are unfamiliar with how a particular Warfront works. I see that a lot in Stockpile: The Black Garden. The concept is simple: grab orbs and turn them in for points. The first to 500 wins. There is more subtlety than that and I think it is time that everyone ends up on the same page. After brushing up a little on the strategy you too can be like Ferrel and yell obscenities at other people in Stockpile who don’t follow the proper procedures.
When I’m on the computer, sometimes I listen to music, but more often than not I have the television on to entertain me and my parrot. Usually the channel is set to the home channel (so I can look at houses I’ll never have) or the food channel (so I can look at food I’ll never have) and one show I find myself watching more and more of lately are the “this restaurant is a disaster but I’ll fix it” type of shows. It’s a strange love/hate relationship, but the more I watch them, the more I realize there are lessons I can take away from them that I can apply to my life, real and virtual.
