About
Epic Slant
Epic Slant is a blog that attempts to do two services to the gaming community. The first focus is to educate players on the intricacies of guilds and their management. The second is to advocate for “more fun” and less “watering down” of MMOs. This will frequently mean requests for more difficulty without adding time requirements. In short, Epic Slant attempts to be a voice for the MMO gamer that doesn’t fit into the “casual” category even though they may benefit as well.
Ferrel
Ferrel, (who is occasionally known as Adam and is featured to the right), has been involved with the MMO industry since its inception. Having been an avid player of virtually every game from MUDs through modern big budget MMOs he has seen and participated in many aspects of the genre.
During EverQuest while serving as a member of Silent Redemption Ferrel shifted from simply playing to commentating and editorials. This pattern of experiencing end game content of MMOs and writing about those experiences grew throughout the years.
Epic Slant essentially developed in its own right from the EverQuest II commentary that ran on the Iniquity website. Ferrel served as both the evangelist for and a senior officer / guild leader of that guild. Upon his retirement from Iniquity he spun the writing portion of his duties off as their own entity. The games may change but the message is always the same!
Currently Ferrel is serving as the guild leader of Sodality and the senior writer and editor of Epic Slant. You can reach him via email at ferrel[at]epicslant.com.
Devilicus
Devilicus has been playing MMO’s for roughly 9 years. She broke onto the MMO scene in Dark Age of Camelot where she fell in love with the fantasy genre and decided maybe chicks can dig games too! Playing a healer is her primary choice. During her Everquest 2 time she met some members of Iniquity. Ferrel was leader there and Dev found a home with a great bunch of raiders who shared many glorious battles!
Devilicus was enocuraged by Ferrel to put her spin on things for Epic Slant. She has found this outlet to be exciting and humerous and hopes that her viewpoint can be used to gain a different perspective on the “typical” gamer out there. Devilicus is currently a staff member of Sodality and contributing writer of Epic Slant.
