EQ2 Developers Chat March 18th
Thursday, March 18th, 2010
While we were running through WoE on Thursday night I dropped in on the ZAM EQ2 developers chat and grabbed all the questions and answers that I could. There was some new information, some old information, and some strange information! At any rate you should take some time and read over what was said and be excited for the future of EverQuest II! You could also not be excited but then I guess that isn’t really as nice! I am sad to say that there was no gnoll related information. That made me sad. Someday… someday… maybe I should start my campaign with the EQ Next team! (more…)
Completing the Erudin Library
Sunday, March 7th, 2010
If you’re a fan of clue, a want-to-be detective, or batman, you’re going to love the Erudin Library in EQ2’s Sentinel’s Fate. This new instanced dungeon gives players a chance to solve a murder mystery while they’re slaughtering in the name of fun and loot. This has ended up being my favorite zone thus far so I thought I would share a little bit on how to complete it. Be aware that this guide is full of spoilers so if you’re hoping to complete this without help, you shouldn’t read after the jump. To complete the zone correctly be sure you have found the murder weapon, two clues as to who the killer is, and the body. That is what you need to ensure a successful trip in. If you miss a single part you’re going to be in hot water when it is time to accuse the appropriate Erudite. (more…)
Epic Pet Wars Update
Monday, March 1st, 2010
I have not been as attentive to Epic Pet Wars lately as I should but a whole slew of updates recently came to my attention so I felt like I had to talk a little about them. It wasn’t long ago that I discussed the fusion system. That has changed a whole lot since then so it is probably best to start there.
The most interesting thing about the fusion system is that the forge has been moved to a Facebook exclusive feature. As you might imagine this can be more than a little annoying for those of us who play on the iPhone. When I want to forge I basically have to go to a computer and log into Facebook. I also open my friends there up to some annoying updates. Hopefully that particular change won’t last long. (more…)
So you want to raid…
Friday, February 26th, 2010
Often times veteran raiders like myself forget that an entire new generation of players is joining us in MMOs. We forget that the things we take for granted in raiding might not be so apparent to the uninitiated. Over time I’ve seen a lot of “how to raid” guides but I generally feel they leave something to be desired. I’ve come up with a quick and dirty list for anyone who is about to embark on their first raid. Follow these instructions and you’ll probably survive the affair! (more…)
Multiverse Episode Eight
Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
Last Friday we completed our first “short version” of the Multiverse. We streamed this recording live via the Multiverse website and had a lot of fun doing it. We’re gearing up for Episode Ten which will be the first live listener participation show! If you’d like to see us practice you can come out and listen to us recording this Friday. We’ll be doing the longer format show and we’ll have a very special guest! (more…)
Demitriks Bastion Sentinels Fate
Thursday, February 18th, 2010
On day two of my EQ2 Sentinel’s Fate experience I was pleased to find out that the servers were stable, nobody was crashing and everyone seemed happy. I logged on as soon as I could and found some guild mates to get into trouble with. We formed up and decided we would give Demitrik’s Bastion a shot and I want to say I’m glad we did. I’m not sure who designed this zone but they need a raise. All design elements aside, it is just a funny place. The choice of roekillik as a primary mob was a delight and the use of them throughout only got better and better. Spoiler after the jump! (more…)
