It wasn’t long ago that Karen and I were talking about Rift and how many of our guild mates were interested in playing it. It seems that in both of our cases we have quite a few. This also seemed like a great opportunity for us to ensure that everyone was at least on the same server so we could rely on each other. In addition to me Karen was also talking to some of her other guild leader friends so that their guild would also end up on our server. That really had me thinking. Can we build a ready made community based on the social connections we already have?
I’d like to give this a chance! I’ve been talking to my blogger friends and guild leader associates much like Karen has. With a game as high profile as Rift there is obviously a lot of interested parties. I’m doing my best to ensure we all end up together. We are coming up to the wire on this so I want to get everyone on board before the head start begins! I’ve been told that server names and types might also be jostled a bit so that could lead to trouble. Suffice to say the general consensus from everyone I’ve spoken to is that we’d like to play on a PvE server as the Guardian side. We will be on the Byriel server.
To help everyone become more familiar with each other and avoid being islands in the same ocean Karen and I will also be starting a persistent chat channel. This will help facilitate grouping and raiding. This way anyone who wants to keep their own guild culture but increase their pool of available players can easily find folks that they know to be relatively reasonable. If things go well I might even put together a forum for the “alliance” as well. At any rate if you’re interested in being with us hop on board and say hello. More information to follow at a later time!

rebellious teenagersDefiant bandwagon. Definitely keep me posted, I may be joining you guys.We’d love to have you along GA! I’ll keep up with the server and the channel itself. I really want to be proactive in ensuring a positive play experience for as many folks as we can!
I’m probably going to be mainly on the PvP servers but given a chance to play with some of the folks I read and listen to might just sway me to roll a character with you guys. Keep us posted!

With respect to the famed clan of vampire hunters, I’m glad to see your current plan to move off Belmont to Byriel. I don’t remember if Trion presents the servers in alphabetical order, but being in the first (or last) may be asking for a zerg rush.

The channel I created for the community is Byriel-Alliance
I bought the Digital Collectors edition and was looking for a place to roll a character. Looking at the 2 factions I think I will prefer Guardian so I will look ya up. It is always better to look for people of similar mindset when getting into a new game.
I made a character on Byriel named Malchome to be easy to find, let me know what is needed to help form a guild, ect.
