We’ve all seen it before. A popular fan site administrator, community manager, or some other lucky soul is given a chance to be a developer for an MMORPG. They remember what it was like to be a player. They are attentive and receptive. Slowly their popularity grows and then suddenly they know everything and can do no wrong. They’ve become a rock star. Lets take a moment to watch the rise and fall!

Some of the best developers I know of almost never speak to players on forums. Ironically, most players seem to completely judge the value of a developer on how often and how well they speak with players on forums.

The less I hear about and from a developer the more I generally trust them.
