Epic Pet Wars hits 1.5

MMO SharkPreviously on Epic Slant Ferrel and his side kick Fippy were captured by the addictiveness of iPhone MMOs. Though they struggled to defeat the urge to pay for titles that were by all accounts simple the Freemium Overlord ™ defeated our intrepid heroes and forced them to open their wallets. Only then did they learn the true power of the mobile MMO and that homage must be paid to the king of them: Epic Pet Wars.

I’ve always wanted to write the intro to the second episode of an Adam West Batman show so please excuse the silliness of my introduction. In the past I have mentioned Epic Pet Wars and just how addictive is for me. The idea of an MMO that I can get to at any moment still thrills me and I’m just waiting for some of the bigger developers to take notice of that. In the mean time, however, EPW continues to improve in every way. Miraphonic has been hard at work fleshing out the 80+ game to keep up with all the players who’re too addicted to stop training their pets.

Over the last month the developers have done an exceptional job of straightening out and streamlining the leveling experience. They’ve also been quite active with the creation of new items to fill in precious gaps and further the progression of the game. Not long ago EPW more or less had a “soft cap” in the level 80 to 100 range. That is no longer the case. A lot of effort has also been put into clarifying the menus and ensuring they are easy to understand. It is because of this that I feel accessibility has really been stepped up a notch.

A whole lot of new pets have been added to the mix and they offer players who are willing to spend a little money on the product numerous options. Aesthetically speaking there is just about something for everyone. I haven’t seen all the new pets yet but I have to assume there is a wolf one for me. If not I’ll have to send Miraphonic a very persuasive email about how awesome a pet a wolf can be!

If you own an iPhone or enjoy browser/Facebook MMOs you should seriously consider picking up Epic Pet Wars. The basic package is free and I’ve found it to be a fun enough diversion to actually spent a little money on. If you do try it out consider adding me as a friend with the code kremolb. If you have the iPhone version you can also send free respect my way and earn yourself some too with the redemption code PAYSSJEU. In either event if you just want to have some fun and waste some time go out and sign up for Epic Pet Wars.
