Star Wars the Old Republic Beta Bandwagon

MMO designI’m completely certain that absolutely every blog on the planet will report this story today but I figured there was a mathematically insignificant chance that someone only reads Epic Slant. I also thought it would be funny since my post is a bit later and I get to report on “additional news!” This morning it was announced that Star Wars the Old Republic was taking beta sign ups! It seems, however, that the server that was taking those sign ups couldn’t handle it! It wasn’t long before a maintenance page was put in place.

It doesn’t surprise me that the server went down to be honest. SWtOR is probably the most anticipated PC title (not just MMO) that is one the way. At any rate, keep an eye on that page and get your application in if you like that sort of thing!

Consider discussing “Star Wars the Old Republic Beta Bandwagon” on the new Epic Slant Forum!

I’ll be taking a pass on the beta, and probably the MMO as well. I love Star Wars…. but have had my childhood shattered too many time to partake of any more Star Wars media. I’ll stick to watching the old films and remembering my youth.

I actually loved Knights of the Old Republic the single player RPG. One of the best all time.

How do they not know that when you mix Star Wars, an MMO, and Bioware you get a massive internet clogfest?

    Natural born WoW-killer.

    *chuckle*
Once again, I’m automatically disqualified from the beta because I work in games. It might be nice someday to get a non-gaming job so I can actually enjoy games more.
