The best of Epic Slant I

Dont tank in robesOne of the biggest problems with blogs is that they just keep on moving if the author is active. My front page shows a mere six stories and it is well documented that few readers explore a site such as this in detail. Occasionally I’ll receive a comment on an old story due to a link or Google search but it is, in general, quite rare. If you’re one of those rare folks who wants to read everything you can browse my archives (the link at the top) for a list of stories by title. For the rest of you, however, I’m going to use Wednesday every now and then as a “Best of Epic Slant” day. I’ll pick four stories that I thought were great and provide links to them. Lets face it, not everything I write is gold and I just hate the idea of the better stuff only being viewed when my audience was 1/5th the size it is now! At any rate, here are this week’s articles. I actually enjoyed reading my old posts. I hope you do too.

Who needs the High End?
The Guild Leader I
The Gaming Family Includes Girls Too
The Guild Leader II

Should you decide you don’t want to read my work then perhaps I can recommend a few alternatives? If you like Epic Slant then you should also be reading these fine folks!

Syp over at Biobreak writes about all sorts of MMO related topics. He also updates far more often then I do! Anyone who references Minsc has to be quality!

Tesh from Tish Tosh Tesh is also quite a good read. We disagree from time to time (or frequently, whichever) but always politely! Most recently Tesh demanded more!

I wouldn’t call it a “demand” so much as an… ultimatum. If MMO devs want my money, they have to give me something that I find more attractive than the MMO mainstream DIKU design. ;)

Strangely, sometimes that leads me in directions rather different from your own (I’m a confirmed casual soloer), and sometimes that leads me in directions like that of Wolfshead, fairly close to views you’ve expressed. Life’s funny that way.

    Thanks for the link!

Such a classic screenshot there. For those wondering, that is our main tank (Khallid) trying to tank in his mana regen robe. That was back when pretty much everyone wore that thing because it was the only flowing thought item in EQ2. I remember our guild always looked like some strange cult showing up to raids. Drink the koolaid.
