My PvE wishlist!

Since any day now we can expect to see an announcement from Mythic about the direction of the game I thought I’d jump in early and create my list of what I hope to see. Mind you this is not what I expect to read but more of a wish list. It is little more than a random jumble of what I’d like and things I’ve heard guild mates wistfully ask for. So, in no particular order, I give you “the PvE wishlist.”

1. I know I’ve mentioned this in probably every blog post I’ve ever written but I feel that repetition might yield results. I would love to see some two group content in Warhammer. The game is RvR focused but something bigger than “one group” won’t take that away. Mythic has proven (at least to me) that they can design fun PvE content. Why waste that talent?

2. Better itemization is something I’d really appreciate. On the PvE side there should be no question in my mind that I’d rather wear Darkpromise instead of Sentinel. Right now that just isn’t the case other than the difference in ward. I’d like to see the statistics improve slightly (in some cases sentinel has better statistics) across the board and the sets focused more on the PvE experience. Reduced critical chance is not really a PvE stat for a dps class (as an example).

3. More cities would do wonders for PvE. Imagine if you had two dungeons per city! The PvE player would always have something to do. In addition, think of the other implications that that would bring. There could be three “greater ward” sets of armor. Each could focus on one of the three specifications of the class. Players could easily “get their wards” but if they wanted to finish a specific set it would take work.

4. Make completing a set more rewarding. I’d like to see a bigger bonus for completing an entire set in PvE. Getting all your wards is rewarding but I think players would invest more time in dungeons to get the last piece they need if it mattered more. Perhaps factor in an additional ward with the six set bonus. Anything along those lines would be great.

5. Change “on hit” on all caster items so that it is clear to new players. I’ve not tested to verify that “on hit” means cast too but I’ve read it does. We need an “on cast” to make these items crystal clear.

6. Faster mounts are a must! I understand that in RvR this will be an unfair advantage. Simply make them unusable in the lakes. For the PvE world, however, we want pure speed!

7. More dungeons in general would be nice. This can be either through the creation of more cities or just putting them out in the world. Given that lock out timers are fairly long we just want something more to do. We’re enjoying the content and we’d like to have more of it to play with.

8. Review Lost Vale sooner than later. For the most part Lost Vale is our end game. The dungeon is epic in scale and a lot of fun to do. Unfortunately the itemization is not quite there. The purple items are not that exciting or valuable and Darkpromise needs some love in both drop and statistics. Another pass over this dungeon would go a long way to make us happy and keep us amused for a while.

While eight is a random number to stop at I think that is quite enough for now. With any luck we’ll see our portion of the game continue to grow and wow us. For an RvR focused game I have to say I’ve been very pleased! I can’t wait to see what is next.

For fuqs sake do not turn this game into a carebear wonderland like WoW the game is RvR focused lets keep it that way. You want more straight PvE content go to WoW, horizons, whatever. You want to add in an RvR dungeon ala Darkness Falls, POC, I am more open. Make it so at any time you can be smoked in this dungeon and BAM you have multi group content, multi group to react to not only dungeon content but also threats from other players. Give this dungeon uber end game drops and I mean uber. You will have a dynamic evolve that has not been seen since Asherons Call it will require guilds alliances work together to keep he dungeon safe and complete the content. You will also truly have your WAR feel as sides, order/destro strive to control this dungeon and claim it as their own.
