As some of you may have noticed if you use Internet Explorer Epic Slant might look a little strange. This is due to something known as browser compliance. The reason you see things differently in different browsers is because there isn’t a universally adopted standard yet.
Firefox, Opera and Safari strive to comply to set rules when they develop their browser. That essentially makes it easier for web developers like me to write code. In Firefox, for instance, Epic Slant looks exactly like I intended!
Microsoft isn’t that big on compliance yet but they are moving that way with IE8 (or so I’m told). That isn’t to say, however, that you can’t make it look the same, it just requires different work and tricks. I’m still learning the tricks to make IE behave. Incidentally if anyone wants to shoot me a comment or email with a pointer on how to fix my little over flow issue please do so!
For everyone else, why not try Firefox, I think you’ll be very pleased.
